If you are looking for an easy but elegant do-it-yourself upstyle, try this simple step-by-step by hair artist Juanmy Medialdea.
Step One
For this updo, there's no need to prepare the hair beforehand; simply air dry. To create a wet look effect, use a saline spray.
Step Two
Apply the salt spray all over the roots and create a base of crossed hairpins at the back at mid-neck level, leaving the sides out.
Step Three
Begin making a cord braid from the side, working with tension to keep the section neat.
Twist the section in your right hand to the right and then cross it over the section on the left.
Step Four
Continue forming the cord braid working in the same manner as above, feeding in sections from underneath with each stitch.
Step Five
If you need to release to continue moistening, always use a clip for support.
Step Six
Take the cord to the opposite side and, two fingers before reaching in the back of the ear, secure it with one or two hairpins.
Step Seven
Create another cord (a classic two-strand braid) on the opposite side with the help of some hairpins.
Step Eight
Cross the second cord underneath the first section, securing it with flat hairpins and hiding the ends underneath.
Step Nine
The finished look is neatly secured in place and misted with a medium hold spray.
